Hello!
I am originally from Upstate New York, where I developed a passion for Japanese Rock in high school. After several study abroad experiences in my teen years, I decided to move to Japan to complete my university degree in Japanese Language and Business Studies at Temple University Japan Campus. Before moving to Japan, I lived in San Diego, California, where I promoted my friends' bands on social media as a hobby.
I have since lived in Japan for over six years and have traveled solo all over the country. I frequent live shows both Japanese and international, and document many of my experiences in my blog, which can be found here.
I have several years of translation, interpretation, and tour guide experience, both professional and volunteer, including a prestigious internship as a translator and interpreter for Tokyo’s Minato City Hall, the municipality in which most of Tokyo’s foreign embassies are located, where I helped international residents of Tokyo navigate difficult situations in Japanese such as health insurance and tax procedures.
